SMEG DISTINCTIVE 50'S STYLING
As well as numerous choices of stainless steel clad refrigerators,
Smeg kitchen appliances offers the soft rounded curves reminiscent
of 50's styling. There are three separate Smeg designs to choose
from, all maximising storage space and with excellent energy
ratings. There are many colour options, ranging from strong
shades to soft pastels, and including a metallic silver finish,
a subtle pink and a vibrant orange. A special edition Smeg Union
Jack design is now also available.
SMEG STAR MARKINGS
Freezer compartments carry international symbols.
1 Star
- Compartment with temperatures below -6°C in which ice
can be formed and frozen or deep frozen foods can be kept
for up to one week.
2 Stars - Compartment with temperatures below
-12°C in which deep frozen or frozen foods can be stored for up to one month.
3 Stars - Compartment with temperatures below -18°C in
which deep frozen or frozen foods can be stored for a maximum
period of 12 months.
4 Stars - Compartment with temperatures about
-24°C in which it is possible to freeze fresh foods, and
store frozen foods for more than 12 months. |

SMEG TEMPERATURES
Thaw time is time taken for the temperature of 1 kg of food
to rise, with the freezer switched off, from -18°C to
-9°C, with a room temperature of 25°C. This is an
important indication of the freezer's level of insulation;
the longer the thaw time, the better the insulation. The freezing
power, expressed in kilograms, indicates the maximum amount
of food which the appliances can freeze in 24 hours. This information
is indicated alongside each product description. A number
of Smeg models are specially designed to provide optimum operation
even in extreme environmental conditions, such as temperatures
of 38°C and 85% humidity, typical of tropical countries
("ST" climatic class), or even up to 43°C for
"T" class products.

SMEG VENTILATION SYSTEM
The FROST-FREE system in the Smeg freezer (where present) ensures
dry conditions by forced air circulation, prevents ice forming
on the sides, and quickly restores the interior temperature
to the right level after the door has been opened.
SMEG CLIMATIC CLASS
The climatic class indicates the range of ambient temperatures
for which the appliance is suitable:
SN 10°-32°C
N 6° - 32°C
ST 18°-38°C
T 18°-43°C
It is important to select a refrigerator specified for the
environment in which it is to be situated.
