CONTROLS
Functional and ergonomic, Smeg cooker hoods controls are designed for quick and simple operation.
Each Smeg cooker hood is specified with either electronic or electromechanical controls, and some are fitted with our stylish Classic controls, to match the other Classic, Opera and Concert products in the Smeg portfolio.
FILTERS
One of the most important parts of Smeg cooker hoods is the filter. A good filter ensures excellent grease and fume absorption and must also be easy to dismantle for frequent cleaning. For best extraction and purification of the air, the filter must be clean.
The period between active charcol filter replacements and grease filter washes depends on the cooking style and how often the hood is used. |
SMEG COOKER HOODS QUALITY
Smeg always utilises the best materials, selecting the finest 18/10 stainless steel for brushed or polished finishes, tempered glass and coloured enamel. During production all hoods are subjected to rigorous testing of materials, operating noise, functions, and equipment both electrical and electronic. All models are given the Nemko quality mark, and the Smeg manufacturing plants are certified ISO 9001 and 14000.

SMEG EXTRACTION
All Smeg cooker hoods can operate in either a ducted or recirculation mode. A hood is an 'extractor' when it sucks in air, extracts greasy particles and expels the air outdoors. It is a 'filter' hood when it sucks in air, cleans it using active charcoal filters and recirculates it back into the kitchen completely purified. The 'extraction rate' is the amount of air which can be extracted in an hour. Smeg cooker hoods use a variety of different powered motors which achieve extraction rates from 300 to 850 cubic metres per hour. The full extraction rate will only be achieved in the ducted mode, the preferred choice wherever possible. |
OPTIMUM CHOICE
Smeg offer a wide and stylish selection of chimney cooker hoods in a variety of sizes, styles and finishes. Also available is a comprehensive selection of integrated, telescopic, canopy and conventional models. Smeg cooker hoods range offers a solution to most kitchen requirements.
NON-RETURN VALVE
Smeg cooker hoods running in ducted mode have the non-return valve open due to outlet air pressure.
When the hood is not running, the same valve closes to prevent outside air entering the kitchen.

LIGHTING
There are a number of lighting options, dependent on the hood selected, and Smeg offers some cooker hoods with special lighting units which combine energy saving with long service life. It is thus possible to select the most appropriate type of lighting while bearing in mind the energy cost. All Smeg hoods allow the light(s) to be illuminated independent of the extraction setting. |
