NEFF Kitchen Appliances Putting your space
to good use
Here at Neff, we believe that, whatever the size or shape of your
kitchen, you deserve all the appliances you want for maximum convenience.
That's why we have developed a range of compact appliances specifically
designed to fit in to smaller kitchens; these include a built-in
oven, microwave oven, steamer, hob unit, warming drawers and, of
course, a dishwasher.
As entertaining at home becomes increasingly popular in British
homes, so too do our requirements for larger appliances to allow
for the additional capacity generated. It all started with the arrival
of the double door fridge freezer, model K3965 to cope with all
the extra storage and guarantee ice cubes for unexpected visitors
at any time of the day or night! Now the demand for larger products
has made us widen our scope to include other major cooking appliances
too. Building two single ovens in under the worktop side-by-side
to create a 'range' effect is one option; or you can build two ovens
in at eye level if your prefer. There is also a generous selection
of extra wide hobs, like the T1583 that can be linked with one or
more domino hobs, and chimney hoods, such as the new D99T7 and D99M5,
to co-ordinate with all the ovens within the Neff collection.
A recent addition is the B1721 compact oven with the famous Circotherm
system of cooking plus a variable grill facility that can be operated
with the door closed. At just 45cm high, this smart stainless steel
oven fits into a standard 60cm wide housing unit, leaving room for
a microwave oven or steamer or warming drawer to be teamed up with
it, either above or below. If space permits, you can also fit one
or two Domino hobs above the oven, when built-in under the counter.
Another new arrival in the range is 'mini' microwave oven, H5430,
an eye-catching turntable model with a full 20 litre capacity and
a height of just 30cm to fit into a 50cm wide wall unit with ease!
Although small in size it offers many of the excellent features
found in larger models. With our 45cm dishwasher, slimline model
S5943, you too can now own probably the most indispensable appliance
of the 21st century - however small your new kitchen.
NEFF Aluminium Collection
Throughout Europe, Neff is renowned for its stylish range of built
-in cooking appliances. With the recent introduction of the stunning
new Aluminium cooking collection - illustrated glory on the following
pages - Neff is proud to be able [take kitchen appliance style to
dramatic new heights!
Aluminium is a fashionable metallic finish that is absolutely ideal
for domestic use; it is light, attractive and easy to keep, yet
promotes the ultimate professional look now so de sirable for the
21st century kitchen. Neff's newly expanded co-ordinated designer
range in aluminium is com prised of a total of fourteen built-in
cooking appliances, namely two single ovens, a double oven, two
microwave oven s, two ceramic hobs, two gas hobs, four chimney cooker
hoods and one island hood. The top of the range single and double
ovens both boast Circotherm super for eight culinary options, including
bread-baking and dough proving settings, plus Hydro Clean for environmentally
friendly, cost-effective cleaning. Aluminium has a less industrial
look than stainless steel, yet is also highly practical for everyday
cooking duties. What's more, as a neutral metallic colour, aluminium
blends in comfortably with all types of kitchen furniture, from
traditional to modern, and all finishes in-between! See for yourself
on the following pages...
Distinctive design is only one of the many distinguishing features
of our new single oven B1432 which co-ordinates beautifully with
similarly shaped curved ceramic hob units. Available in other colours
as well as Stainless steel or aluminium, as shown, the B1432 is
ideal for batch baking on a grand scale, or roasting your favourite
joint. The catalytic liners mean you can keep your oven clean with
the turn of a dial.
Built-in Double ovens
Distinctive
design separates double ovens from ordinary double ovens. The increasing
popularity of home cooking - largely as a result of constant media
exposure - has caused a renaissance in demand for double ovens in
the UK. Virtually all the double ovens in the Neff range are for
building in to furniture at eye level. If you long for a double
oven but are hindered by a lack of space, the built-under double
oven model U1721 on page 60, is especially for you!
We are well aware that most people prefer their grilling facility
to be at eye level. That's why all the double ovens in our current
collection now feature a grill in the smaller top conventional oven.
AH the main ovens include at least three different options based
on the famous Circotherm system of forced air cooking and the smaller
conventional oven is ideal for grilling as well as top and bottom
heat.
The finishing on these ovens is absolutely superb, from the unique,
user-friendly controls to the subtly embossed logo on the stainless
steel and brand new aluminium versions. White, brown and black are
perennially favourite colours but if you're looking for the very
latest finish, the new boys on the block this year are definitely
the 'metallics', namely stainless steel and aluminium.
How to choose a microwave
What
is the difference between a conventional microwave oven and an oven
microwave combination? - An oven microwave combination
combines conventional heating elements or a grill with microwave.
It will produce food that looks traditionally cooked, but much quicker
(just 7 minutes per Ib for chicken).
In the combination ovens you have metal shelves. Is this safe?
- It is perfectly safe to use metal shelves if the microwave
is designed to accommodate them. Most food that is to be reheated
or defrosted will be placed in a suitable container on to the metal
shelf.
What is the difference between a QuantumSpeed microwave
oven and a oven microwave combination? - QuantumSpeed offers
the very latest 'cooking by light' technology. It's even faster
than a conventional microwave oven so it's the ideal choice for
people who need a separate oven for tasks such as cooking prepared
or snack food from frozen.
Like a microwave, it's also useful for producing food in a hurry
at any time of the day or night. The oven combination microwave
is ideal for someone who wants to cook roasts and other foods in
a shorter time but wants a traditional brown and crisp result. Both
types of oven are designed to be built in at eye level above a matching
Circotherm oven.
I sometimes find it difficult to judge defrosting times;
food cooks on the outside before being thawed out in the middle.
Why? - Most microwave and combination models in the range
offer automatic cooking and defrosting programmes. Popular menus
and foods are developed and programmed into the oven. All you have
to do is place the food in the oven, select the appropriate programme
and the weight of the food and the oven will automatically choose
the correct power level and cooking or defrosting time.
I find it very difficult to gauge cooking times when I use
my microwave. Are there any suggestions? - Cooking time
will depend on a number of factors. If the food is dense, like a
piece of meat, it will take longer to cook than something porous
like a cake. Chilled food will take longer to cook than foods at
room temperature. The more food you put in a microwave, the longer
it takes to cook, and the shape and size of the food also affect
the cooking time.
I want to build in a combination microwave and a single
oven. Is there an ideal height? - Remember that when you
use combination cooking the oven gets really hot. Make sure the
appliance is built-in at a comfortable height so you can reach over
the drop-down door. There are several options when building in a
combination microwave. New model H5970 can be built-in above or
if preferred it can be positioned below the worktop. Our other combination
models can be built in above or below an oven for added convenience.
Do microwaves really save energy? - Yes, particularly
when comparing the cost of cooking individual items in a microwave
and in a conventional oven. If you are cooking a lot of food and
have filled your Circotherm oven, it may be cheaper than cooking
individual items in a microwave. Microwaves use only about 1 kilowatt
of energy per hour, compared to 5 kilowatt in many conventional
ovens.
Some microwaves have a turntable, others don't. Is a turntable
required? - Microwaves can work successfully with or without
a turntable. If they don't have a turntable the microwaves will
be distributed via a stirrer in the roof (models H7871/H7881) of
feed from the bottom (model H5970). With the turntable the food
is rotated to ensure that the microwave energy penetrates evenly.
I have some things I always cook in the microwave. Is it
possible to programme in the recipes? - Yes, some of the
microwaves have a recipe memory that allows you to enter and save
instructions for your f avourite recipes.
I notice that the microwave has several different power
levels. How do I know which one to use? - All Neff microwaves
have 5 power levels. Recipes in the cookbook will give you the recommended
times and settings. In general, high power is used for reheating
liquids and cooking vegetables, and lower settings for baking, roasting,
defrosting and keeping foods warm.
I continue to hear people say that microwave ovens aren't
safe. Is this true? - Firstly, microwaves are not harmful,
unlike x-rays they do not change the structure of body cells. In
addition, the microwave oven is constructed in such a way as to
prevent microwaves from escaping. The doors are electronically sealed
and have at least two safety switches. This ensures that the microwave
cannot be operated unless the door is completely closed. All microwaves
are thoroughly checked for any leakage before they are despatched.
Over 30 million microwave ovens are sold annually throughout the
world with no proven evidence that any user has ever been harmed
by the microwaves.
Built-in Compact appliances
Of the appliances in your kitchen, the microwave oven is the one
that embodies the majority of key factors designed to make life
easier and more efficient for ail the family. At whatever stage
of the day or night a hot meal is required, the microwave oven performs
its task in double quick time - using very little energy! The beauty
of a Neff microwave oven is the way it blends in with its surroundings.
Each model in the range is designed to be built-in to a furniture
cabinet.
As well as excellent standard microwave ovens, there are also three
superb combination ovens. The claim to fame of these three combination
models is their inherent ability to mimic all the obvious benefits
of a traditional full-size oven - for example grilling and browning
- in a fraction of the normal time, There are some exciting new
additions to our range of compact ovens, all of which are designed
to complement our single Circotherm ovens.
The brand new QuantumSpeed microwave oven is faster than the speed
of light; it is the perfect choice for those who want their food
hot and in a hurry but for a rather slower pace, the new steam oven
is ideal for the more health conscious amongst you!
There are also two brand new warming drawers in our new collection.
Not only do they heat up your plates, but they can also keep food
warm until you are ready to eat, Compact appliances add an extra
dimension to your everyday cooking needs. So much choice, so little
time!
Appliance finishes - ovens
With all the tantalising oven colours now available from, choosing
a finish is not as simple as it sounds! Traditional kitchens in
wood and laminate finishes work well with traditional ovens in brown
or white. You just can't go wrong with a streamlined look where
furniture and appliances blend in seamlessly together. If you prefer
a more contemporary style, our metallic finishes of stainless steel
and aluminium are the perfect partners for high tech kitchens, incorporating
a mixture of colours and textures for an outstanding effect. Black
is a popular choice for modern and traditional kitchens too and
that's why we have recently introduced additional black ovens into
our range. Alternatively, you can add a touch of nostalgia to any
kitchen with a highly individual nostalgic oven in a choice of black,
white or green. To give you a hand with your decision, we have spread
all the different coloured ovens over these two pages. Food for
thought perhaps?
