KITCHEN APPLIANCES - NEFF HOBS |
How to choose a NEFF KITCHEN APPLIANCES
hob
I'd like to replace my gas hob with one of the new ceramics.
What differences will I find? - Within the Neff kitchen
appliances ceramic hob range there are models with Quick light plates
and the more advanced, faster heating, induction plates. Quick light
plates have tightly coiled elements under the glass that heat up
faster than the standard ceramic elements supplied on earlier models.
Induction hobs heat up as fast as gas and are very controllable.
As soon as the pan is removed the heat switches off. If the hob
is switched on without a pan it will not operate. The new induction
hobs also offer timers, memory programmes and child locks. The other
differences are in the trim design. Some models have trim all around
with a curved design in the front. The new Piezo hobs have the controls
in the front trim.
If I purchase an induction hob do I have to purchase new
pans? - This will depend on the pans that you already have.
An induction hob has an electro magnet (induction coil) positioned
below the glass. When the hob is switched on the coil will cause
an induction field and heat the pan placed on its surface. The pan
must be made of ferrous metal for the heat to be transferred. If
you are unsure about the suitability of the pans, test the base
with a magnet. In most cases if the magnet sticks the pans are suitable.
If in doubt please check with the saucepan manufacturer or refer
to the information supplied with the pans.
What is the advantage of a sensor hob? - There
are times when preparing food that you are unable to continuously
supervise the cooking. The sensor hob will maintain the heat of
the contents of the pan, on your behalf, preventing it from boiling
over, or spoiling the food. This will make the hob easier to clean
and will save energy. Using a lid on the pan will also save splashes.
Is there any advantage to a front control hob over those
with side controls? - The majority of the hobs in our new
kitchen appliances range have front controls. For those with limited
access i.e. left handed people, those with arthritis or other ailments,
a front control hob may be more convenient. It also gives you a
wider cooking area. Several of the standard gas and electric hobs
have side controls - all ceramic touch controls are positioned in
the front.
I'm having to build my hob where it may be in a draught.
Is it safe to install a gas hob? - Many Neff kitchen appliances
gas hobs incorporate a flame failure device. If the flame is extinguished
for any reason, the gas supply to the hob will be shut. New electronic
hob model T2646 will re- ignite itself automatically to ensure that
the cooking continues unabated.
I've had a gas hob before and found it difficult to maintain
a long slow simmer. Will my new hob simmer any better? - Almost
all Neff's gas hobs have a very low burner of 1 kWh which gives
excellent simmering results.
I do a lot of hob cooking and would like an extra wide
hob. What options are available to me? - Within the range
we have several 5 burner hobs in varying widths. It is also possible
to combine a selection of Domino hobs or combine a 4 plate ceramic
hob with a range of Dominos. The possibilities are endless.
On some ceramic hobs there are plates of different shapes
and sizes. What is the benefit of this? - Extendable plates
give you more flexibility and can accommodate unusual shapes of
pans. Dual circuit plates have two heating plates in one (one larger
and one smaller) and ensure that the energy is used more efficiently.
Built-in Hobs
A Neff kitchen appliances hob unit is
designed to complement a Neff built-in oven. As in any successful
partnership, the two kitchen appliances work together as a team,
sharing the cooking to be done.
Gas remains the most popular fuel in our range. But coming up fast
are the smooth talking ceramics that have found favour because of
their streamlined looks and ease of cleaning. Look out for the two
new 'Point & Twist 1 hobs T1543 and T1583 (so-called because
of their unique 'Point & Twist' action via a handy removable
magnetic control) which add an extra dimension to our extensive
ceramic hob collection.
Ceramic hobs take centre stage in our current collection. Also new
this year are the very chic Piezo' models T1643 and T1683, which
both boast a frameless finish and sensitive touch controls for culinary
control at your fingertips!
The new collection boasts total co-ordination across the cooking
range with a host of exciting new innovations to boot. Look out
for some really useful features, such as timers and memory functions
to make cooking even more pleasurable. Most of the ceramic hobs
simply feature flush touch controls on the surface of the appliance.
So once you have decided which oven you prefer, the perfectly co-ordinated
Neff hob unit - in the fuel, colour and finish of your choice -
is only a few pages away!
