caple wine coolers have a number of different temperature zones keep different wines at the optimum temperature for storing - or better still - serving. To truly appreciate the qualities of different wines, they need to be stored at different temperatures. Roses and whites should be served at 7a-14°C, sparkling wines at 6°-9°C. With reds, it's a question of body - full reds need 15°-18°C, whereas lighter reds are best at 12°-14°C. And as well as the temperature level, consistency is important too. Fluctuations in temperature actually disturb the organic components of the wine and cause the cork to shrink or swell, letting air into the bottle.
Caple wine coolers can be kept almost anywhere in the house, whether that's the kitchen, utility room, garage or basement. All you need are weatherproof conditions and an electrical socket. The range includes slot-in models which can be built in under kitchen worktops. Alternatively, Caple offer larger, freestanding wine coolers, which create an attractive focal point in the kitchen, and can be easily moved from house to house, or room to room.
Side storage
Caple wine coolers ensure you can be confident your wine collection is being well taken care of. Bottles should always be stored on their side so that the wine is in contact with the cork. This keeps the cork moist and ensures a good air seal for the bottle, preventing oxidation and immediate ageing of the wine. Ullage is the gap between the cork and the wine in the bottle when it is upright. Wine benefits best from side storage if the level of the wine is at least to the upper shoulder of the bottle when upright. Consistency of temperature, humidity, vibration, circulation of air, UV light. All these factors influence what your glass of wine will taste like when you finally pour it from the bottle.
Storing bottles correctly on their sides means they keep a rock steady temperature inside, even when temperatures outside rise or fall rapidly. Cool air is fan circulated constantly and heaters work with the cooling compressor to maintain a consistent climate. An environment of 55-80% humidity preserves cork quality and prevents mould and odours, the units are designed to produce an ideal atmosphere of above 65%

Bottle stacking - An adequate number of shelves are provided to allow bottles to be stored either on a single level to help protect the collection and keep each bottle within easy reach, or stacked for longer storage.
White LED lighting - Ultraviolet light causes Light Strike - premature wine ageing, so sunlight and fluorescent light must be avoided. Our white LED lighting is not only attractive, but completely UV-free. Not only that, LED lights have no heat output either.
Humidity water tank - A humidity controlling plastic water tank is supplied to position on the top shelf of each zone, to increase humidity if required.
