Caple induction hobs are clever, hygienic and efficient - many experts believe they represent the future of hob cooking.
They work by creating a magnetic field between the surface of the hob and the pan. Heat is produced almost instantly, and is extremely easy to control. And once you've lifted the pan from the hob, breaking the circuit, they cool down very quickly, so they're really safe too.
Because induction heats only the pan area and not the area around it, induction hobs are remarkably energy efficient. There's minimal heat loss, up to 25% energy is saved.
Induction hob technology is based in simple physics. The base of the pan heats up and not the cooking zone thanks to a strong electro-magnetic field (or induction coil) positioned underneath each zone. A ferrous metal pan completes the circuit. To work, pans must have a magnetic core base. Most saucepans made from steel, iron or stainless steel are suitable. Check with a magnet - if it sticks, you're in business.
